Chola
Chola has a strong passion for teenage girls and preserving Zambian cultural heritage through education and networking. She does this by organising fun events that are interactive. You can find her chatting with other women, brainstorming over a cup of tea (or glass of wine 🙂 ) when she is not busy with her family.

What do you celebrate abut being a woman?

Interesting question, I celebrate being a Mum even to children that I didn’t birth, being able to dress up and look stunning , being a sister , I hear God made man but created women so I celebrate being Gods creation.

What do you wish other women knew?

I wish other women knew that you do not need another human; man or child to define you.

How do you express yourself creatively?

I used to write a lot before I had children, I also used to make fun jewelry with colourful beads, now I organize events where I and other women get to express themselves. I also sing a lot, in the car though. 🙂

How are you making a difference in the world?

By making a little contribution in my community, informing Zambian women about their rich culture and traditions. I believe we should not forget where we’ve come from and we shouldn’t adopt a new identity all together. My contribution is sharing the little information I have and creating platforms for women to share.

What do you believe is your calling and what are you doing about it?

I believe my calling is to teach in a fun and interactive way. I am doing it through Katuntulu Edutainment.

How do you celebrate where you come from?

Through my events.

What do you consider to be the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome?

My obstacles are getting information from the different tribes, finances and time because I work full time and I have a young family. Also convincing people that being proud of your culture is important. Its a process, still working on overcoming these obstacles
