You’ve read the blog posts, listened to the podcasts, bought the courses and journals, paid for the website, bought the Peleton, bought the cookbook, printed the plan …but nothing is happening. It’s okay to admit it. You really don’t want to change.
You just can’t seem to stick with it.
What do I mean by that? Well , you intrinsically know that all change requires some sort of effort, but a part of you wants that thing you want without the effort. This is completely normal 🙂
Can you accept that you are lazy?
If you know that you having that thing means effort expended, then why not expend the effort?
Well, several reasons :
- You don’t know exactly how much effort you need to spend on this thing. Do you need two hours a week? Do you need to work nights? Do you simply need to cut out a few things from your schedule?
- You believe what everyone tells you about how hard it will be. What if it’ll be easier than they say?
- You have no plan. What do you want? How can you get it? What are the consecutive steps? Are you ready for the change? Can you see yourself with it? What excuse have you believed?
- You are lazy and may have never really worked for anything worth having in your life before. Something that YOU wanted, not what your parents wanted for you.
So, admit it, you don’t want to change. For some people this is helpful in realising how complacent they have been, for others its simply a relief.
Either way, you get to live with what you choose. Isn’t that beautiful?
